- Get ready
Turn on the shower and let the water warm up. While you wait, get undressed and put your towel where you can reach it.
- Step in and get wet
When the water feels comfortable, step into the shower. Let it run over your body and get your hair wet all the way through.
- First shampoo
Put some shampoo on your roots. Use your fingertips to work it around your scalp. You have time to get all the way around.
- Rinse
Rinse out the shampoo. Let the water reach the back and sides of your hair, too.
- Second shampoo
Time for your second shampoo. Work it into your roots again with your fingertips.
- Rinse again
Rinse the shampoo out of your hair. Keep rinsing until the suds are gone.
- Conditioner
Put conditioner on the ends of your hair. Leave it there while you wash your face and body.
- Wash your face
Gently wash your face. Remember the outside of your ears and behind them. Keep soap out of your eyes.
- Wash your body
Wash your arms, underarms, tummy, back, legs, and feet. Remember your bottom and the outside of your private parts. Take your time with each area.
- Rinse your body
Rinse the soap from your face and body. Check behind your ears and under your arms for any suds. Leave the conditioner in for now.
- Rinse conditioner
Rinse the conditioner out of your hair. Use your fingers to help the water reach through it.
- Enjoy the water
The washing is done. You can enjoy the water for a little while. I will let you know when it is time to finish.
- Finish
Your shower is finished. Turn off the water.
